SINGAPORE: Singapore and the south Pacific kingdom of Tonga have expanded air links, with an Open Skies Agreement (OSA) signed on Monday.
The airlines of both sides will be able to fly between Singapore and any points in Tonga, via and beyond to any third country. They will not face any restrictions in capacity, frequency or aircraft type.
The OSA was signed in Singapore by Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew and Tonga’s Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Defence, and Information and Communication, Lord Tu’ivakano.
Mr Lui said the signing of the OSA reflects the warm ties between Singapore and Tonga.
He also said it underscores their commitment to establish a fully liberal air services framework that will allow their carriers to respond quickly to market demand.
